MKM Story
where we started – to where we are now
the MKM community
MKM Supports Women and families, helps reduce landfill & donates to many charities. Our events provide a safe affordable environment for families to recoup money on their pre loved items while also providing a fun and affordable environment for families to purchase baby and kids items.
For businesses – MKM provides a great market event for small businesses to showcase their products and further supports their exposure through social media and other parenting group promotions to preloved and small businesses. We further support stall holders with weekly tips & advice within our community pages.
We cover a wide range of suburbs across Sydney, Central Coast & Newcastle and bring age appropriate fun for kids to be entertained at each event to make the shopping experience fun for the whole family.
MKM is proud to partner with Charities and further promote how the MKM community can help support the charities we work with further.
As a small business owner – we are so proud of what our MKM community has achieved, such as:
Saving thousands of tonnes of baby and kids items from landfill including large items such as prams, bassinets, highchairs, clothing, shoes, toys, books and more.
Giving parents a place to make money by recycling items in a fun and community environment.
Providing an opportunity for families to save money when buying essential baby and kids items especially important given the current economic climate and impact of the pandemic.
Creating a sense of community, cohesion and belonging across 10 market locations
Supporting new businesses owners to launch at MKM by providing marketing and promotion of their products at events as well our many online platforms.
Our Story
2008
BABY MARKETS
MKM’s founder, Jennifer – a mum of two (now young adult) boys first discovered the baby markets when Jennifer’s youngest was just 2 – and fell in love with the concept immediately.
Over the next 10 years, Jennifer continued to visit her local market regularly both as a shopper and as a stall-holder until she eventually began working the odd Sunday here and there to help out.
Jennifer started as a contractor to Kidspot, managing 6 Baby and Kids Market NSW locations. Whilst still being there for her young family she was able to coordinate, manage and build up these events.
2017
MY KIDS MARKET
In 2017 the opportunity arose for her to take over this business and it became My Kids Market. As an energetic, caring person who is supportive of everyone connected with her, her business & the charities she is partnered with – My Kids Market became much more than just a ‘market’.
NOW
HOW WE HAVE GROWN
Fast forward to today, My Kids Market now operates in 13 locations across Sydney, Central Coast, Newcastle and the Mid North Coast with each location holding an event multiple times a year.
